The Clinical Trials Network (CTN) for Lyme and Other Tick-borne Diseases was established by the Steven & Alexandra Cohen Foundation to identify more effective treatments for patients with acute and chronic manifestations of Lyme and tick-borne diseases.
The Johns Hopkins Medicine Lyme Disease Research Center is a CTN investigation center along with Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C., and Columbia University Irving Medical Center in NYC, the CTN coordinating center. The University of California San Francisco (UCSF) has also joined the CTN, bringing an investigation node to the west coast.
In 2022, our Center began a CTN pilot tetracycline study to investigate tetracycline treatment tolerability in people with post-treatment Lyme disease. LEARN MORE
Results of the CTN pilot studies will determine the feasibility of conducting larger controlled treatment trials and hopefully potential new treatment options for those suffering from tick-borne illness.
